After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
I am roasting my usual blend, i had some nice feedback though, Peter Holmes a Court dropped in on Saturday morning for a coffee before flying down to Sydney for the NRL Grand Final, he said it was the best coffee he had ever had...anywhere! He took a bag with him to take back to New York. Tonite I sold 8 bags to a group of CBA executives who had been on one of our cultural tours - i have started supplying ground coffee for the plungers and they went wild about it! Now busy roasting to catch up with the production for my normal customers as that cleaned me out!

Hope you talked up a home grown design - The KKTO roaster If they want to finance me to produce the next version - I am waiting for there phone call KK
I did talk up the KKTO - and the important place it played in between the 'toy' home roasters and the very expensive commercial roasters - as well as the brilliant guy that created it!! Peter should have a bit more free cash flow this week!
Roasting up some PNG Kokoda Organic today. Odd looking mix of beans from tiny peaberry through to massive half beans. Will be interesting to see how it goes in the cup. http://beangreen.com.au/product-info.php?pid98.html
I have borat123 and was a pretty good read, gave me some extra confidence that I was on a reasonable path as I already more or less roasted that way. Combination of learning off Mark Beattie from Coffee Roasters Australia, Coffee Shrub crew (turning point in my roasting style chatting with these guys), Kees Kraakman stuff (more great reading) and doing a Boot Camp Coffee course. Also throw in all the great info shared online from guys like BeanFlying and KK early in the journey. Add in the few hundred kilos of roasted mulch in my garden beds ;D and that's my coffee roasting journey to date, still plenty to learn and understanding the nuances of all the coffees out their and how seasonally they can change is a huge endeavour and most enjoyable. Chester
Roasting today on the KKTO A 1 kg blend of 600 gr of Guatemala Arabica Antigua 400 gr of Sumatra Kuda Mass KK
This blend in the quote above is very nice and what I am drinking this week However today I have decided to inverse the mix ratio So today's roast is a 1 kg blend of 400 gr of Guatemala Arabica Antigua 600 gr of Sumatra Kuda Mass KK
Just going through the warm up on the SS. Roasting a Yirgicheffe Dumerso light and fruity for C-man to put through his plunger Chester
If that's the one from Beangreen, then he is in for a real treat. A great bean for lighter roasting, I have found nothing much to my liking going more than 1min past the end of rolling FC. Around 13.5min total time. I had a plunger of it the other day and it was very enjoyable.
Drove a little more heat in at start of roast then declined throughout (Rao would be happy) 12:45 min roast dropped 1:10 after start of rolling FC. Attachment not found.

Chester those are some hard-ass beans! nearly brought My HG one grinder to a full stop seriously to some muscle to continue A real funky Fruit Bomb! Had one on the Espresso as well as the plunger REAL HIPSTER COFFEE............YEAH!.....................I like it.
I guess because it is so lightly roasted makes it so hard? Seriously if my grinder was not bolted to the bench I would not be able to grind it. good thing I have more muscles than a Seafood platter I Love it, not just super fruity but very floral too.
Yep C-man light /medium roast = less breakdown of the cell structure. Should still pull okay through the espresso machine as well at the roast level I took it too. Glad you like it. Chester
knocked off a few kilos of my standard Kofeh Yo Blend for the customers. I think this is my last order of greens to roast before we head off on the gap year, just had about 30KG turn up from Brendan. I am going to miss the aromas of roasting!
