After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Hi guys - the re-launch of the Hilton was a big thing in Sydney today... the only thing is the coffee they're using is supplied by a small boutique roaster called 'Single Origin'. Can't imagine the 'big V' will be happy about that - they no longer have a monopoly on the coffee used 'in the top restaurants'. Wonder how long it will take V. to buy single origin! lars :-/
Yeah I saw the article in the SMH that mentioned the Hilton account. Did you also notice they mentioned roasting between 750 and 1000kgs a week! Was that a typo? FC if you're reading this, do you think it was meant to read per month not per week? On a 15kg roaster that averages out to be nearly 62 roasts a week at full capacity... and they only open Monday to Friday. 12 roasts a day. that sounds like a fairly intense workload, but I'm not in a position to judge. Just thinking out loud as usual -Stephen-
That roasting capacity is viable. In previous positions i have held, we roasted 1800Kg /day on a 90 Kilo roaster, thats 20-24 roasts a day, 5 days a week.
