After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
A "Funny" Thing Happened on the way to the...
Imagine an unexplained loud but dull thud, run to a front window and look out, and see a small hatchback reversing "at speed" out from the front wall of your roastery and hitting another car in the middle of the road....
Imagine there had still been people sitting in that outdoor cafe area....or staff sitting at the desk directly behind the window and wall.
And imagine that someone has to deal with the aftermath, which will be to demolish a section of front wall and rebuild...
By and large, the driver was unhurt.
All of this is considerably higher than the road level. The vehicle has to first jump a kerb, travel uphill and then jump a 300mm timber retaining wall to the outdoor seating area, before hitting the front of the building. Which probably "washed off" enough momentum that the vehicle didnt demolish the wall and end up inside the building....
Hmmm...certainly put a dampener on my afternoon.
