After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

and then it went BOOM!

ok so today i went to make a coffee on my old trusty em6910 but when it started extracting there was a loud BANG noise then the lights went out and the machine ground to a halt

subsequent attempts to turn it on just resulted in tripping the safety switch - Im going to go out on a limb here, but I think its buggered!

Any amateur sleuths out there?

    Zikes!!! Sorry to hear, a loud bang noise is so surprising from an espresso machine! Unless the machine was just incredibly loving what it was extracting and got excited for you? [emoji14]

    yep that pretty much was it five senses ecuador hakuna matata single estate $88 per kg including postage (if you buy it 350g at a time) so expensive sink shots as well! Pat

    Ive still got the rancilio epoca so im ok for now but a loss is still a loss and yes ill contact mark for some advice but i suspect that a replacement will be cheaper than a repair in this case! p
