After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
I might be fast... stays with me for quite a while! I drink it mainly to enjoy but the caffiene boost is sometimes a great bonus. does that happen to other coffee drinkers too? to drink for the taste but also are conscious on its caffiene effect too?
Yeah that is interesting... I just don't get a buzz from coffee, and yeah definitely drink it while relaxing, and enjoy coffee for coffee. That being said, if I have coffee anytime past 5:30pm I tend to struggle to sleep (yep, 5:30pm for some reason hehe). I used to drink at least 3 double shots a day and felt the same, but then if all of a sudden I don't drink coffee one day, I will feel quite tired and headachey. And I've gotten incredibly bad headaches at some breaks... I'm now planning little phases of a couple of days of no coffee, just to reset things anyway hehe. And wean myself off slower rather than cold turkey. But yeah, I don't drink it for that purpose (as a drug/performance enchancer/relaxer)
For me it's a heart-starter in the mornings. I have a thing called Addison's Disease and the coffee fills the gap between my being awake and the Cortisol taking effect. Also, I love the taste like I love wine, scotch and beer... but those things aren't appropriate first thing in the morning
I'm definitely one who prefers to savour my coffee, always have been and never for caffeination purposes... I just love great coffee and try to squeeze out as much enjoyment as I can from each cup. ^-^ Mal.
I definitely get a kick out of caffeine mere lolly water will.not do ! I start my day with a latte after breakfast each morning immediately followed by another one usually home roasted and I'll have coffee out fairly regularly but not if I've had two at home already and o hardly ever have coffee after lunch as I have trouble sleeping otherwise but two in the morning kick start my day quite nicely! P
I can have coffee at night and generally have my last cup about 8.30 / 9.00pm Does not affect my sleep but with my job I go to sleep around midnight But just like Mal I like to savour the coffee and chase flavour in my roasting and blending KK
I generally find that two or three double shots are my brain and body jumpstarter for workdays, spread out over a couple of hours so I can savour every drop of goodness. Having said that, I'm a little past the first flush of youth (cough, cough!!!!)....... The quantity doesn't seem important but prefer to stop about 5 hours before sleeptime as i work "hospitality" hours and sleeps kind of elusive some days.
Coffee gives me a kick start in the morning. I really notice the caffeine kick in when I get to 3 or 4 shots within a short period. I start talking faster and faster and faster. My customers often notice the transformation during their visits and have a laugh. I try to keep to 2 doubles on weekdays and 3 on weekend days - try.....
