After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Coffee Roasting Equipment

Does anyone know of any good coffee roasting equipment to do around 12 kilo's a day, suitable for a cafe? And does anyone have costs. I was looking at the Green Bean roaster but there is no price and they haven't answered my email.

    Hi Bean scene, The green bean roaster is a excellent roaster for cafe use. A mate of mine had one in his cafe and thought it was great,and i certainly enjoyed his coffee.I gave him a quick call for you and asked the roaster price. $5900 plus GST. He said to email michael at their QLD office and he can answer any questions for you.

    I'm no professional roaster, or any authority on coffee, but I would humbly suggest that you should be wary of any roaster that markets itself by saying that roasting coffee is as easy as boiling water. I mean, roasting coffee probably is as easy as boiling water, but roasting coffee well is probably slightly harder, and would involve more than 1 hour of training. I only know what (little) I know from hanging out with a great roaster in sydney, who lives and (would probably choose to) breathes coffee.

    Korean manufacturer Imex does a shop roaster. They have a website and have sold into Australia. G.

    Hi bean_scene_2day As a roaster I may be able to give you some advice but can you tell me a little more about what you are trying to achieve. Roasters are like cars in the sense that although a Corolla is reliable and efficient it may not suit your needs. It depends on what kind of driving you want to do.

    i agree with prawnman but be wary of the green bean man it only good for beginners it does a good coffee until you know what you are doing then its shit do the roasting cousre that dean morgan is running in sydney morgan hand craft coffee is the web site
