After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Hi all
I have this grinder:

With my Via Vanezia (Saeco), it seems like I can't get my grind fine enough (with the setting set all the way to the finest grind setting - I think).
I try to get double ristrettos with the double basket, and apart from really packing the basket, with numerous tamps (but not more than 15kg, John

), I get about 30 mls in just under 20 secs. I get tonnes of crema with small bubbles, but it dissipates relatively quickly - it isn't like the normal thick crema from an espresso shot.
Am I expecting too much from the machine? Am I being a complete goose (FC, JD & Pab - you don't need to answer that one). Does this mean I have to upgrade to a Giotto :P?
Cheers
P
