After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Hi everyone.
Was having a coffee and thought would it be a great idea to get everyone to have some fun showing off the most basic and easiest of latte art achievable, which is the heart.
To make a heart, make an espresso which has decent crema, then simply steam and texture milk (full cream is best but skim or hi lo milk is okay).
Tap and swirl the milk on the bench, tilt the cup, then pour from a height til halfway up. Bring the jug down and wiggle steadily as you are pouring near the surface of the milk. Then lift the jug and at same time draw a line of milk across to finish. This will suck the lines into the middle, thus making a heart.
Tip. My best heart are the kind where i wiggle the jug upon pouring just a few times, then keep the jug steady but keep pouring, then lift and draw across. This will result in a nice heart with a few lines on the outer heart for artistic value and a solid white in the middle for contrast.
Have a go. Don't judge others and have fun displaying your work.
