Great to hear Pat. Soon I'll be ordering from you [emoji3] Well today in the mail came a new outdoor dog bed for my 2 staffs. It is larger than what I thought (maybe I shouldn't have ordered the XL). $35 inc delivery from an eBay seller in QLD. Delivered in 2 days from hitting the pay button on PayPal. Now that is quick delivery. Dogs haven't laid on it yet as the little shits have been inside all day snoring.

Exact same thing happened with the bed I ordered off ebay for our old dog, GeekKopi - she never laid on it not once,  and I ended up giving it away !

No I am days is that a record for speed for Australia Post?  If you had ordered it from Hong Kong you would've had a quicker no doubt. I fear for everything! It's my other hobby!

Hi Brett, Melbourne to Adelaide is usually 4 days, sometimes 3. This took 8 days. You are right, I have had stuff come from Europe and Asia quicker than I have Australia  :-X.

Well today the mail man brought me a new compressor for the fridge that kicked the bucket overnight. Out with the old and the new one gets welded in place, vacuumed and gassed. The mail man also brought me HVAC tradie to do the job. Mrs said "lets get a new fridge" (The fridge is only 7 years old) and I responded with "really?" Not bad for $220 supplied and fitted considering the labour retrofitting a compressor and the job to weld it, test it, vacuum etc. This was after he came this morning to diagnose the fault, went back to his workshop to pick up parts (inc compressor) then came back to perform the surgery. The tradie even said that he used to (back in the day) cut open failed compressors, fix them and re-weld them shut. #oldskool. I am very impressed

I got some valved coffee bags without ziplocks.  I'm going to use pegs as the current batch of ziplocks don't seal fully  :doh:

ok, so looks like the fridge electrics killed the new compressor too. seems its shorting somewhere. I threw in the towel (my wife did). The tradie didn't ask for any money at the end as he couldn't resolve it. now that is impressive even though I offered him recompense for his time, So tomorrow the postman (delivery truck) is bringing us a new 600L side by side fridge.

Bugger Geek, it was worth a shot though. I was opening the oven door last night when it came off in my hand. Hubby patched it up but it probably won't be long before we need to go and buy a new one.

head into Masters if you have one close by. They have got some crazy sales on appliances at the moment. I got my fridge $300 cheaper than other places. And as always. There is something wrong with it. Noticed a small dent on one of the doors. Getting a replacement delivered Monday but until then I'll be using this as it's been hard 3 days without one.

and this time I took out another 6 years extended warranty. Big mistake not doing it on my other fridge, the cost to repair it wasn't worth it (electrics were fried) and the mrs was bugging me for a larger one so it all worked out (not) [emoji26]

Good-looking fridge!  Has it also got a PID?  My freezer has a PID.  So does my espresso machine.  I'm having one fitted also to the downstairs toilet... It's the way of the future.... PIDs.. I love em!  You can change the numbers on the front to suit your mood!  :stir I reckon my new heat pump has one too but there's a fine line between tweakabiliy and legionella! P.s I've had obnoxious on toast for lunch!  It's a great looking fridge!

hi Brett yes it's sporting a dual PID as well as a fuzzy logic controller to adjust temp for both freezer and fridge automatically based on how much is inside. It also purges my steam wand automatically when I take the milk out the fridge and flushes the group head.

It is surprising how just one extra little mouth makes you need that bigger fridge .
