After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
I was watching teev the other day and saw an ad for Hardly Normal and their range of sofe suites, etc. They had one suite called 'Expresso'. Now either:
There actually is a term 'Expresso' which is in no way related to our beloved espresso;
Their powder-sniffing marketing execs thought they would try to capitalise on the gast growth of espresso yet completely 'effed up' (thanks Gonzo - I like that one ;D).
The point is, this kind of behaviour is perpetuating the consumerist nature of coffee at the expense of the 'beverage appreciation' side of it (I couldn't think of a better phrase).
This in turn will emphasise the 'brand' aspect of it which has been discussed at length in these forums.
That's my 20c for the day (soap box is now free)
