Now that makes sense, I'll let you know. Very glad you asked for photos, I don't think it's even clicked with OH to check the end, I'd hate to think what would have happened in the vice (well if it turns out that the end will come off).

No luck on our end, all we've done is succeed in scratching it and chipping the black plastic!!! Muscles have you had any luck. No that OH has looked at it he definitely doesn't think it's a put in the vice and twist type of pf.

I still think that the silver end cap is removable, Unless its fake Does it appear to look like a cap/plug KK

I had a quick go at removing but it will damage the bakelite handle so I gave up until I find out if their is also in fact a nut behind it and not just one holding it... ::)

Even the Bezzera handles have a light strength Locktite so it wont be a surprise to me that the BES900 has the same system Unfortunately its hard to unscrew by hand as it requires the Locktite seal to be broken first KK

I'm hoping that's the answer, we'll put it in the vice if so. Muscles we've already damaged the handle trying, after the second scratch and the first chip I made him stop. Oh well it's run in now LOL

I don't think anyone knows the cost of a replacement yet, the nakeds are going to be over $100. I'll offer up mine once I get a naked ;D it's supposed to be next month sometime so not too long to wait. Hopefully you'll be able to pull it apart and be able to put a new handle on and then I'll do a swap and have the naked done as well

I've missed this thread until now, but wanted to also say a huge thanks to AM for the naked PF he sorted me out with that had one of his custom wooden handles on it. I looks bloody brilliant - I pour naked now whenever possible, because I love seeing it on the machine so much. Now I need to figure out if I can replace the steam tap handle with a wooden equivalent! Here's a couple of shots:

You tell me!! :D I'll see what I can do about unscrewing it - it almost looks like it's on a ball within the handle, but haven't looked to closely just yet. BTW - Auspost says the other PF was delivered, did it make it ok?

I have completed my wooden handle for the naked filter AM gifted me another wooden handle but I needed to finish it by fitting the threaded stud Yesterday I drilled the correct size hole and glued it in - leaving it over night to harden All stages are photographed and posted KK
