Thanks Rider, they have an excellent range. http://www.beangreen.com.au/
  • I was very impressed with my order.  Next day delivery by courier and they have enough beans to keep me busy for a while.  It's nice to be able to buy 1kg at a time to try different things and then go back for more.  I bought the same Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Grade 2 Washed & Brazil Daterra Estate  - Sweet Collection after hiphipharar's recommendations. I used to buy beans from that other place and yes the prices per kg are maybe a little lower here and there,  but $15 postage on top for 2 bags of beans, and it's min 2.5kg per bean.
  • Keep us in the loop with roast & taste results Why did I ask that when I already know the answer Of course you will keep us in the loop How about I thank our sponsor for a great range & fast delivery KK

Ordered 6.45pm yesterday, email this morning @ 7.30 letting me know they have shipped, pretty snappy service eh? ;D
  • Bean Green outdid themselves today with excellent service. I ordered 5kg Yirg plus some bags Saturday evening, not expecting anything to be done until Monday morning. I got an email this morning (Mon) to say it had been shipped. I nipped out for a while and when I got back it was on my doorstep, so arrived sometime before noon.  ^-^ Graham
  • Crikey, its 7 months since my last order from Green Bean ??? no wonder my stock is looking a little depleted, I'm down to just over 20kg ::) rectified it today and ordered  2kg Yemen Sanani Mocca along with 2kg Kenyan Gethumbwini Estate Peaberry, looking forward to receiving the order. ;)
  • Well I had a crack and this is what my order contained: Yemen Sanani Mocca Price: AU$20.00 Qty: 1 Amount: AU$20.00 Options: Size: 1kg $20 Indonesian Sumatran Gayo Speciality Price: AU$14.00 Qty: 1 Amount: AU$14.00 Options: Size: 1kg $14 Indonesian Sumatran Mandheling - Blue Batak Price: AU$13.00 Qty: 2 Amount: AU$26.00 Options: Size: 1kg $13 Brazil Daterra Estate  - Sweet Collection Price: AU$13.00 Qty: 2 Amount: AU$26.00 Options: Size: 1kg $13 Wanted to do a mocha\java blend, so with my stash already having some Peru Ceja (1.5kg), Ethiopian Yirgacheffe (2.2kg), Guatemala huehuetenango (2.2kg) & some Indian MM (1.9kg),  reckon this should give some good scope to try some blending........  Gotta love the free delivery and the flexibility to purchase in 1kg lots.

G'Day Jonty, I'm drinking a long black made with freshly roasted Yemen Sanani Mocca as I type this, very nice SO, mobs of crema with big chocolaty overtones and viscous syrupy mouth feel. Roasted it less than an hour ago, should improve over the next week or so. Notice your big on the Indonesian beans, have never acquired a taste for them, far too earthy for me, to each his own. :)
  • Placed my first Greens order with BeanGreen Hopefully there's enough flexibility in this list to either blend the lot or part of or even SO (apart from the robusta obviously) - Colombian Bachue Supremo - Costa Rican Tarrazu - Kenyan AA Dorman - Indonesian Sumatran Mandheling ' Kuda Mas' - Indian Elk Hill Estate - Washed Robusta
  • There's a combo in there that's close to what is now my fav blend - works well as espresso and my wife loves it in milk. 280g Bauche supremo 220g Kuda Mas (this is a scrappy little bean and the farm's processing leaves a lot to be desired - I've found all sorts of foreign objects in Kuda Mas, including a chunk of stone about four times larger than a green bean - visually inspect this bean carefully on a white plate before roasting) The remaining 100g for me is usually Monsoonal Malabar, but the robusta will probably work just as we'll.
  • Thanks for the warning Kelsey It was a toss up with which Indo I settled on so maybe next time I'll swap the Kuda Mas for a Sulawesi Ah what the hell, I've never done this before so I'll see what happens Maybe a Brazil or a Peru needs to join the fun next order and see how they hold up to one of my maulings no doubt
  • Don't get me wrong, the Kuda Mas is a great bean and one of my all time favourites. Every bag of greens requires an inspection for foreign material when you're preparing your roast. I've just found more junk in Kuda Mas than in anything else!

Yummy!  Nice selection.  The Elk hill is great and he even has an Arabica  from there as well which is an interesting contrast.  Get cracking man!
  • go for the blue batak!

Ahh yes, the Blue Buttocks (attrib. DX)!  Beautiful looking and tasting bean.  Easy to roast!  Spot on Lemoo!

Kelsey thanks for sharing the blend. Interested if you pre roast the MM or throw it all in togethere?  Thinking this will be my next adventure!  Jonty
  • I probably should as the MM matures significantly later than the other beans. But if I did that, if probably roast the Kuda separately too as the size difference is pretty extreme. As it is I'm flat out getting in one roast a month!
  • Don't completely discount Robusta as a single origin. I haven't tried the elk hill robusta, but have enjoyed a single origin PNG robusta before

Both from bean green are lovely and I especially enjoy them as a French press.
  • I've just ordered: Brazil Fazenda recreio microlot El Sal la Cumbre COE (2nd time around for this one) Ethiopian Sidamo Guatemala plan del guayabo All through bean green. There is something very damn exciting waiting for the next delivery. I think roasting is becoming more addictive than the coffee.
  • A small order today... Only the Kenyan and Rwandan for me, the rest baggies to fund my addiction ;) Rwanda Musasa Cooperative Price: AU$17.00 Qty: 1 Amount: AU$17.00 Options: Size: 1kg $17 Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Grade 2 Washed - 1kg Price: AU$13.00 Qty: 2 Amount: AU$26.00 Options: Size: 1kg $13 Indonesian Sumatran Mandheling - Blue Batak Price: AU$13.00 Qty: 2 Amount: AU$26.00 Options: Size: 1kg $13 Panama Boquette De Eleta Price: AU$11.00 Qty: 1 Amount: AU$11.00 Options: Kenya Thiaru Estate AA - 1kg Price: AU$16.10 Qty: 1 Amount: AU$16.10 Options:
