After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

New Home Roaster to Australia

Hi Guys,
We have a couple of new home roasters in stock that are new to Australia. We think they do a good job but would love to get some feedback from a seasoned home roaster. Would anyone be interested in giving one a road test for us? If your keen send me an email to [email protected]

    I'm just up the road from Kesley and would be happy to do a few roasts and give you some feedback from a home roaster perspective.  I've owned my KKTO for 2 years now I think and I love home roasting. Out of interest what size batches does it roast?  Any other details as to the spec?

    I didn't see any requests for QLDers only?  I'm sure if Brendan had a few machines, we could even pass it around for testing in different locations to get a wider response to testing.  Just a thought, it's Brendan's call after all. More details would be nice Mr B, we are all champing at the bit to know what the specs are! :)

    We have 2 units at the moment that are out getting road tested with more on the way. We will share them around for sure. The machines roast 200grs per roast with heaps of different profiles you can save and change. They very compact and are pretty much smokeless as well which is a bonus. Thanks for all the request guys and thanks for helping out. Cheers Brendan.

    Hi Brendan, Very interested in testing one of these out. Maybe PM me with estimated pricing and element wattage too? I've got a mod-TO and a Gene Cafe on the bench at the moment so good direct comparisons, and am happy to host roasts in Syd (and provide some beans). Speaking of beans, must order some ethiopians and panama from you! Just not sure when I'm moving, so keep putting it off!

    Hi guys, Some more samples have finally arrived. One is on the way up to Kelsey, Lacehim and the Sunny Coast guys and another over to WA and 1 in Brisbane. I'll share them around after that. Thanks for helping out guys. Instructions are in the box. There are some presets available for different profiles already but you can quite easily change the parameters to create and master your own profiles. Yell out if you need a hand. I found that 180grs gave  the most consistent results. Cheers Brendan.

    A surprisingly large box arrived on my doorstep today. Why I'm surprised, I have no idea - Brendan does everything *FAST*!! I want to do this properly, so it'll need to wait a day or so before I can properly sit down and have a play. :stir

    You can just go right to hell.  ;) I don't want to say too much without Brendan's blessing to do so. I will say that it's more 'appliancy' than I would've thought. It's a real hybrid style of roaster that's quick, clean and fun to use. You can easily hear 2C. Very little smoke and the chaff collector is great. It has it's downsides, but priced at the right point I could see myself getting one.

    Certainly do at the moment Kelsey  :D I take the missus to work in the morning so I'm at her mercy anyway. Its only work, it will still be there at 8.30. Most customers appreciate a later start rather than rockin' the neighbours at 6.30  - suits me  ;)
