After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Was that a roaster and espresso machine all in one in that first lot of photos? Amazing that it looks like levers dominated for so long, I guess people just got lazy :stir Love the Infuso and look triangle lever handles, just made for me ;D
borat123's post planted the seed and I guess I was lucky enough that an opportunity presented to add Milan into a travel plan. Brett work on a reason to go you will not regret it. When we arrived at Mumac we were greeted by a couple of guys who worked at La Cimbali and they had just started a tour for two customers that were visiting, they invited us to join the tour, the customers left quite soon after the tour started so we had two guides who took us through the entire museum and explained the history, design criteria and technology of all the machines. They then offered us an Espresso made on the La Cimballi M100, I might add that the Espresso we had at Mumac was by far the best espresso we have had anywhere in Italy After the tour we went through again at our own pace which took about 2 hours, we had the entire place to ourselves, there were no other visitors. They indicated that they expect about 2000 visitors a year. There are video displays all the way through where you can see events that were happening in the world at the time the specific machines were manufactured and the time they were in use. The 1960's display had a photo of the Rolling Stones on the back wall behind the display. Attachment not found.
