After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Almost out of beans as I was roaster building and was putting it off to to time But today I had no choice - roast or be out of beans Today's roast on the KKTO was 1 kg of Indonesian Kuda Mass organic These beans were all sizes and ugly green But they roasted up very evenly KK
Yesterday I fired up the KKTO and roasted a 1 kg blend 600 grams of Indonesian Kuda Mas 400 grams of Colombian Bauchue I feeling that this blend will be a double choc hit to the palette KK
Exactly what Brett says x3 I don't know of any other commercial roaster who gives his thoughts and advice as freely as yours. Thank you. Off topic, Cosmic Couple, I will also be playing with a few of Coffee Brushes profiles as per stretching out 1st to 2nd crack, stretching out drying stage as well as prolonging 1st crack and do some cupping. Anyone else want to give it a go, we will look forward to your feedback. KK

Today on the KKTO I roasted a favourite in KKs household 1 Kilo of Colombia Bachue - 18 screen Supremo. Just on the 20 second mark into 2nd crack Attachment not found.
Hey Gary you must remember this is a 1 kg batch Colombian Bachue 18 screen Roaster at full heat for 10 min on warm up Drop beans in Run at full heat - 250 deg First crack normally at 13 to 14 min Start of second crack at 18 to 19 min KK
THanks for sharing your profile KK. I run a 625gm Supremo batch to produce just over 500 gm which fits into a 500gm coffee pouch. 200 deg preheat. 230 deg til first C at 13-14 min. Stretch out first crack by burping. Dump beans just before or first snaps of second at 16.45-17 min. Next roast day I'll try and extend 1st to 2nd and evaluate.
Did a bitsa roast last night as my first back after the temporary coffee ban in the Eggie household. Finished off the last of my Colombian Volcan Galeras Supremo and topped it off with Peru ceja de silva. Not got a lot of confidence in how it will turn out, but we shall see in a few days.
She took a few sips of a white coffee I had again this weekend and liked it. Not enough to want a whole coffee to herself but that was all the encouragement I needed. Now to see if I can wait a week or more to have a crack at making a decent coffee out of them.
Roasted 620 gm each of Costa Rica Rio Negro RFA Brazil Monte Alegre Estate Rwandan Inzovu Co op Colombian Hacienda Curazo Supremo to produce 2 kg roasted and post blended. The Brazil, Rwandan and Colombian was roasted on a longish profile. The Costa on a more shorter steeper profile. Beans are from the current crop from Bean Green. Have to say I like the cloth bags they came in. Easy to re tie. Great for recycling into other products too.
No mate, 3 batches. That is 1.5 kg nett weight, so a generous 250gm bag. 3 loads of 630 gm netts around 510-520 roasted. Time consuming but living in the country we have a great barter system.........
350 gm Panama Hacienda La Esmerelda Palmyra Estate Behmor 1600 plus First crack just on 12, second just shy of 17 Great colour, rest for a bit and try. Home use.
