After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

What Coffee are you roasting this week

Seems no one payed attention to your post KK. Had a quiet chuckle.  ^-^ That's a great looking roast. The Supremo is an easy bean to roast and great in a blend. Heck, it's even great as a  50% base to a blend if anybody wants a bold tasting coffee.

My next roast in a couple of days will probably be a blend of the Supremo with Kuda Mass KK
  • I think it totally stands up as a SO
  • Just finished roasting 300g of Indonesian Lake Tawar, pulled just before 2C 11.52 from drop temp 150 deg. Followed by 300g Tanzania KVCG Peaberry, pulled on hitting 2C 12.30 from drop temp 150 deg.
  • Looks a lot darker than Jeff does...The Indo that is
  • What was the finish temp on the first one Kevohere, and C-man is just a hipster these days getting around in his skinny jeans  drinking my (his preferred) fruity roasts

Sorry for the delay in relying. Been out all arvo and on way out (dancin') now. So, quick answer: Lake Tawar was the first roast (2nd pic) pulled at 185 roaster temp not BT. The Tanzania KVCG was pulled at 182 deg and is the darker of the two. Kev.
  • Today on the KKTO a special G20 roast Brisbane City in in lockdown today and the CBD people have been granted a public holiday because of the G20 That makes it an opportune time to roast a 1 kilo X 3 bean blend 400 grams of Guatamala Arabica Antigua 300 grams of Sumarta Kuda Mass 300 grams of Colombian Suoremo Should be a nice blend KK
  • About to roast 2kg of Columbian La Esperanza Gesha Cerro Azul in three batches for my coffee addicted family

That's three rather pricey batches there bcspark, to do in one session. You must really love your family to share. At $65/kg green and having some in stock myself, I'm interested in how they turn out. Profile temps etc. Are the three batches being roasted similarly or for different brewing styles? Kev.

One of my sons is our benefactor . Completed 2 batches both 17 min 230degree cs9 . We three of us enjoy triple restretos or macchiatos . As explained by supplier the bean was easy to roast and I found this to be the case . I have the profile logged on my tablet but cannot place on the forum due to inability to do so.Useually I could call on my eldest to help with task but he is fully occupied as spouse and health provider.

Forgot to add that if the final product tastes as good as the aroma of the green beans WOW
  • Done a few roasts this weekend on the Behmor. 1. Eth Yirgacheffe Konga - beautiful bean from Brendan, really enjoying this Yirg! 2. An adhoc blend, let see were it goes. 135g Yirgacheffe konga: 135g Indo Gayo Special: 40g MM. 3. Panama Boquette 4. ITM Jonty
  • Jonty Number 2 could be classed as a Mocha Java style It's one of my favourite bends KK
  • Knocked out a kilo of PNG NCT Organic, followed by 600g Indian Monsoon Malabar. Both looked the goods, taken just into start of 2C. PNG 1C @ 13;30 & 167 deg 2c @ 17:44 & 188, pulled @ 18:09 & 190 deg. MM 1C @ 9:50 & 170 deg, 2C @ 13;00 & 185 deg, pulled @ 13:25 & 187 deg. Of course I'll be letting the MM sit for some time, but might have to dip into the PNG in a day or two as stock is low.
  • Nice Kevohere , I like the profile for the MM over the PNG, should be nice in 7 days. Chester
  • Just roasted these and the Family have nearly taken it all. Attachment not found.Attachment not found.
  • That Yirg looks The goods Chester and the cold drip will be an enjoyable birthday treat. Motivates me to do a cold drip roast next week as the weather down here is averaging high 30's. Haven't any Yirg, might try some Ethiopian Limo
  • No disrespect meant to the roaster as I have some of his coffee now and it is excellent, but those Blue Batak beans look horribly inconsistent.  Is this just one of those beans that looks ugly but tastes good?

Was wondering about that myself eggbert. I haven't eyed any of the Blue Batak before, so I have to ask; is that photo pre or post roast?  :-| Lots of "blue" in the photo....... so then, they can't be "green"!  ???
  • Ugliest bean in the world, you have to forget all your visual indicators and trust in the force  :thumb: Put them through the slayer today and they are going to be great (only a couple of days post roast) 14.26 roast time, 1:36 development from FC dropped at 196c, damn ugly though. C. Not the greatest photo either
