Bean Green monday,s 10kg delivery of the PNG Sigri Peaberry and Tanzanian AAA, then wednesday 20kg delivery of the Colombian Pilatilo, Brazil Monte Alegre Naturals and two Yirgacheffe Kocere and Koke. Beans were part of the specials category. All are greens destined to be blended except for one of the Yirgacheffe. That one would be good for single origin espresso or filter. Will cup and see. Strange Auspost delivery system but a quick phone call to Justin at Beangreen set things straight. Thanks Justin.[emoji106]

Have to stop trolling ebay. Well not eBay but office works. Picked these bad boys (2x tolix stools) up and they priced matched a cheaper version of smaller dimensions from Kmart. Score! They are for the kitchen bench but they do look good under the espresso bar.

I'm still on the Nitro Coffeeguy. It is, to me, a very very strong coffee, chocolatey with a hint of woodiness about it. I am really enjoying it. I find by cutting the shot a little early takes some of the strength away. My son has declared it the best he has tasted.

Acaia Pearl scales a few weeks ago. Thought it might be a gimmick. Never got into the weighing thing; too much work. But this thing works well easy to use. The blue tooth to the phone is great as you can tare the scales from your phone.

It actually arrived a few days ago, but it's the most recent acquisition - a Hario Skerton. Finally got a decent hand grinder and it's helped me make a couple of really nice pour overs with some Sidama that is perfect for this kind of use. It's the older Skerton, so no hopper lid, but it'll be fine for me.

A new DLSR. Couldn't justify going full frame and the Mirrorless just doesn't sit well with me due to EVF and battery life. So I went with a Nikon 7200, a prime 35mm lens and a 18-140zoom. Can't wait to take some snaps of the espresso bar (i mean the little one)

Yep, a lot has changed in 12 years, but a Nikon is a Nikon. I am just at home with the D70 (yep... You read that right) as I am with the D800 and D750. When the D200 makes its glorious rerun from being loaned out that too will be jus as user friendly. It's a great system once you learn it! I was going to get the Df as my other body but the 750 is too familiar and too much better to trade function for form. I reckon you'd better start a Nikon thread!

droooooollllsssss. Nice bit of gear. My wife would divorce me instantly. I was going to take the plunge on the d750 but then I would spend double that in fx lenses and yes the wife issue. Here are some quick pics I just took with the 35mm wide open

yes ts a 52.5mm equivalent, f-stop was at 1.8, the DOF would look deeper due to the smaller sensor. i thought long and hard about the full frame 35mm but comparing apsc/full frame to medium/large format, they are not so different :P (i keep telling myself)

Not quite "the postman" but Star track dropped a package in today. A PESADO 22g IMS basket and matching 58.5mm tamper. This now pairs up with the IMS laser cut shower screen I purchased at M.I.C.E earlier this year. :thumb: This will hopefully assist in overcoming some extraction inconsistencies of the not so well fitting Great Leveller and convex tamper produced. Failing this, maybe I should be driving the witch whilst holding my tongue out and firmly closing one eye! (That has been known to help when constipated!!) :rofl: Just opened a new bag of Sumatran Mandheling Jade for the first pour/taste, so will more than likely need to try same with the other/older tamper and basket for comparison. :coffee2:

i tried a vst once and it drove me crazy trying to get a good shot. I gave up. I've been using a synesso double basket and I think it's a good compromise between stock and vst.

Yep... I had the Synesso 21g basket. The VST 18g that I use killed it. It is very possibly the sweet-spot for my machine. Every machine is different and when we change even the little things from what the designer had made we risk introducing new idiosyncrasies to deal with.

These arrived a few days ago now. I have been drinking iced coffee for the last few weeks and thought it looked much better in a nice double walled glass than a mug :thumb:.

nice glasses CB. Here's an idea for you. Freeze your black coffee (say long blacks) in ice cube trays and add them to baileys and milk.

Now that sounds like a great idea GK :exclaim: Think I'll go with short black ice cubes though, as a long black with milk seems a bit too diluted for me. :coffee:

That's a big grinder! Congratulations mate. Are they 80mm burrs? I paid almost $200 for burrs fr the A8 and then haven't used them. I guess they'll be good for when I move into the retirement home in forty or so years.... :doh:
