After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Peru Fundo Santa Martha Guatemalan Antigua Los Volcanes Indonesian Sulawesi Toraja Kalosi I really like how it come up as an espresso Be adding this to ESP only list Maybe needs something else to make it better in milk , I felt it got a bit lost in milk
Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Trabocca FTO Specialty. Started at 8 days post roast. Very drinkable as a long black but seems to shine as espresso. My favorite SO Yirg so far, not that I've tried all that many... Finished a KJM blend last week- Peru Guatemala Huehuetenango FTO Ethiopia Harar FTO Sumatra Dolok This developed a really intense Marzipan note that I've not come across before and can't quite figure out where it came from, Vanilla too. Very enjoyable.
I had my first try of Yemen from GB this morning very surprised how the shot tasted, super soft and smooth and was good after milk too only about 4 days post roast, I don't know how to describe it. just good.

I've never had this one! Thanks for the description... It will be in my next order :thumb:
lots of crema and so far Nutty and Fruity but i can't make out the fruit yet. Hows that Yirgy going Brett? If there is any left from the first roast it should be tasty by now

There's just a bit or he plunger at work and the espresso at home. It's an absolute treat this stuff. I roasted some or a mate and he bought an empty packet back to me in record time begging for more! I may have to charge him something because at this rate he'll drink it faster than I will.
I'm drinking Brett's Yirg (love when you buy jewellery and you get coffee as well ;D ) as a black, so so easy to drink, no sugar. I'm also drinking James' blend from C-man's thread. I can finally say I can successfully roast a blend (even if it's someone elses), chocolate all the way and a sweet after taste.
Just finished a 50 / 50 blend of PNG Kimel and Ethiopian Limu Given a good rest period it shines at day 8 + Very thick creamy mouth feel with mild chocolate Next roast blend is Ethiopian Limu with Sumatra Wahana Naturals KK

MM 23 days post roast. Still loads of body; a thick creamy pour with more striping than you could poke a stick at... There is also a few hundred grams of wahana left, at the same age. I might try them together as a blend.
Ethiopian Guji Sidamo OCR Guatemalan Antigua Los Volcanes 50-50 Had roasted just into 2C for plunger (i know i maybe should have pulled it a bit earlier) but got curious and to my surprise worked out ok for both ESP and MILK 8 day post roast Something to build on maybe by throwing something else in the mix next time
Just roasting a sample 1 kg bag to trial ? On the KKTO 600 grams of Zimbabwe AB FAQ This bean is clean and very small almost pea berry in size KK
The quote above on the roast and now a report on it This bean is unlike any African I have tasted It's very balanced in flavour - I would go as far as to say that it's tastes like a great blend Just the right amount of flavour and a hint of sweetness with milk based coffee Also Derillex has gifted me some roasted samples of Panama COE and Indian ( I think Tiger Mountain ) KK
Bag end blend. Very nice actually. Dark roast (for me) - second crack plus 30 sec. 140gram brazil Ipanema Dulce 70gram Harrar 40gram Bukit Marante 7 days post roast
Derrilex and I had the El Salvadore Finca Alaska @ 3 days post roast This is a beautiful well rounded bean, tastes like a chocolate Colombian May need a little more rest ? KK
My Alaska is still resting. Today was the Costa Rica Jaguar. At the moment, this is my favorite. Absolutely stunning in the siphon. If you want to try it as espresso, you can get it ready roasted Had an espresso of the bag end blend later - nice, but not a patch on the Jaguar.
El Salvador finca Alaska today. roasted Tuesday Not getting bergamot, but definite citrus, though not too acidic. A touch of pepper too methinks. Another seriously nice siphon coffee, convenient as the costa rica is just finished. edit - nice nutty aftertaste too
I don't usually do sink shots, but today was an exception. Brazil Pedra Redonda. Roasted Sunday on the 1kg CCR. Third shot was a keeper, extremely tight ristretto. OK but not inspiring. Not sure if it is the roast, the age, the extraction, the beans (never had them before) or a combination. More research required and I shall ask my daughter for her opinion as she generally likes Brazilians. Got plenty to experiment with anyway
