After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Photos from anywhere and everywhere.

Nah, not at all. I just got a MUCH better camera when I went to Japan and took the time to learn how to use it. I consider my roasting perfect now anyway :P
  • Was in a hurry n skimmed through the posts n saw richard,s food.pic. Thought, that looks minimalistic for a fillet of beef sitting on a pool of bernaise before realizing there,s no wine.on the table and the nice looking cheesecake thingy to accompany the choc pudding thingy should have been the giveaway Beautiful relaxing scenery to enjoy a wonderful lunch. Am jealous. :)

Yes its a great city these days , clean streets with a lot of green planting on sidewalks and central strips such that at times you would think you are in a botanical garden !..No street vendors either and less "hussle" than NY. This is one of their latest structures, erected to honor one mans ego ...Trump International ! I like the contrast with the old overhead tramway and the planter box on the sidewalk. s0kb.jpg And cold at times ! ...these pigeons thought so too ! kxyl.jpg
  • not an especially great pour, but love these little espresso cups [piccolo latte 'yin&yang']...

To my eye, the contrast between the whole 'rest' of the image and Trump tower... Well it just looks to me that the Trump tower is a really poor photoshop insertion into the image, such is the contrast... "what's not real in this pic?" Not unlike the overwhelming way the man stamps his persona in real life... Great thought provoking pic....

Yes, i thought exactly the same re the conrast, and expected a comment about photoshop ... ..but that really is the way it looked..very odd sunlight effect on the glass of the tower which is a good 2km distant. Actually i was surprised that my phone camera ( only 5Mp ) managed to capture it so realistically (or maybe that should read unrealistically ?) If anyone doubts the photo, take a google street view from "Wabash st" looking north
  • Another great photo, well done...thats from South Wabash. I've often walked there, half frozen, and mainly at night. Looks like you've had great weather. @OG, there is a couple more, almost like that, as I've said, a fantastic city for those interested in Architexture. J
  • A shot from the Governers Chair, Spicers Gap.
